The trail (2 miles round trip) offers an easy walk out to the very end of the Island in the Sky mesa, including a lot of panoramic views, clearly the best view in the whole park. The views encompass 100 miles or more of canyon after canyon, with the La Sal Mountains to the East and the Neddles in the South. A thousand feet below is the White Rim, a nearly continuous sandstone bench that follows the contours of the mesa. Another thousand feet below that, the Green and Colorado rivers are flowing towards their confluence.
Directions
Starting at the Island In The Sky visitor center, follow the main road (Grand View Point Road) for about 6 miles until you reach Mesa Arch. Continue on the main road for another 6 miles until you reach the end of the road and follow the trail.
