After using Shafer Trail to descend from the Colorado Plateau, the road continues into Shafer Canyon where you can enjoy some outstanding and usually undisturbed views of rock formations as well as the Colorado River. Moving on, the road takes you back to 191 and Moab.

Take a left at the intersection of Shafter Trail with White Rim Road - actually, you are following country road 142 (called Potash Road in this area).
