Sunset Point

Sunset Point is the second major viewpoint and offers vistas of some of the most famous and breathtaking of Bryce Canyon's hoodoos. Directly below the point and to the south, the Silent City rises from the canyon floor, a maze of so called red-rock-men hoodoos and fins packed in tight formation. Just below the overlook on the northern edge, you can find a special hoodoo called Thor's Hammer.

One major trail (the Navajo Loop) is accessible from this point. If you don’t want to descend into the canyon, we recommend hiking along the Rim Trail to the next viewpoint, Inspiration Point.

Directions

After entering the park, follow the main road (Utah 63). After passing the visitor center, locate the loop road to your left that leads to Sunrise Point. Shortly after that, there is another road to your left that leads to Sunset Point.
