Sand Dune Arch

Sand Dune Arch is named for its location in a sandy slot between two fins. The area’s dune-like sand is particularly fine and has a pinkish red tone – a clear indication of its sandstone origin.

The main trail (which also leads to Broken Arch and Skyline Arch) runs flat for a few yards to a spur for Sand Dune Arch. Bear right and follow the increasingly sandy path through a narrow slot between two fins. The slot opens into a sandy and shaded area, continue on and very soon you’ll see Sand Dune Arch on the right.

Directions

The trail leading to Sand Dune Arch is accessible directly from the main road, about 16 miles from the visitor center.
